Two of Arsenal’s most promoting youngster will spend the next English league season away from their home club as part of their development process. Benik Afobe who spent last season at Reading will again be loaned out to another Championship club , Bolton for the whole season, while Ryo Miyachi, will be going to Wigan after spending last season at the Reebok Stadium with Bolton.
Both players were recently part of the Arsenal team on tour in Asia with both of them featuring in all three games. Even though they did not score, both of them gave credible performances to give the fans optimism about Arsenal youth development.
I must say that while the Afobe situation is much excpected, Miyachi’s loan deal is more of a surprise (It must be noted that the loan deal for Miyachi is still unconfirmed although there is a high chance it will happen). After spending last season at Premiership club Bolton with some great performances and goals, I thought Miyachi will be staying at the Emirates to fight for his place with Gervinho on the left flank. I think he has shown enough during his Premiership appearances to show Arsene Wenger that he has the quality to be part of the firt team. furthermore , Miyachi was granted an exceptional talent visa which allowed him to play at Bolton. Personally I like this guy and feel he has what it takes to challenge the existing midfielders for a place tin the team. Therefore I must disagree with the management’s decision to send him out on loan again.
On the hand, it is definitely as right decision by Arsene Wenger to sent Benik Afobe out on loan again. Afobe is certainly a talented youngster and the loan spell under Owen Coylen will do wonders for him, just like it has Jack Wishere and Ryo Miyachi.
In other news, Santi Cazorla is almost certainly going to be a Gunner next season after passing the medical at the Emirates Stadium yesterday. There is further good news when it was revealed that Robin Van Persie could somehow change his mind and sign a contract extension with the team. The number of quality signings Arsene Wenger has made over the few months have really shown the Dutchman, the ambition of the club and he is confident to be able to compete for honours with Team A in the neat future.
