Adam Johnson is looking more likely to need a new club for this season as Manchester City looks to complete the acquisition of Scott Sinclair from Swansea. The £5 million deal is set to be completed today as the Citizens continue their quest to buy British this season after adding Jack Rodwell to the team last week. Sinclair impressed everyone with his performances for Swansea last season.
With the addition of Sinclair, it is most likely that Roberto Mancini will look to off-load Adam Johnson on permanent basis or on a whole case scenario a loan deal. I am not sure why Johnson is not being sought after more by the Premiership clubs because he is good player to have in the team. Looking at our beloved Arsenal, Johnson actually ticks all the squares that we want and need in the team at the moment.
Johnson plays largely on the wings and being a left foot player is ideal as the backup for Gervinho. Our left flank is a bit exposed as Gervinho is the only recognized left winger in the team. The previous incumbent for the position was Arshavin but he is rumored to be leaving for Zenit St Petersburg. Moreover, Arshavin’s performances over the past two seasons have left a lot to be desired. I don’t see any other player making a run for this position so we really need cover here.
Johnson is actually the kind of player Arsene Wenger likes. Young, quick, talented and being British means an added plus since he will not be counted under the non-English quota. I believe the manager was very interested in him when he was in Middlesborough up to the extent that we made a bid for him. Unfortunately, like many, the greed got better of him and he chose Manchester City. The end result is two wasted years spending sitting on the sidelines when he could have really made a name for himself with Arsenal.
Now it is not too late for Johnson and Arsenal to take advantage of this opportunity. Obviously, Manchester City does not need him and the player wants to go so he will be available for a loan. I doubt that Arsene Wenger is looking to buy Johnson now so a loan deal would be perfect for both parties. If he is successful, Arsenal can always buy him next season. We have passed on a lot of players up north, now it is time to take one for our own.

he wouldnt suit us.hes too greedy not a team player.
100% agree with you. This player is a class above what we have now. We need creative players who know where the goal is. And he is a Brit. I very much doubt that AW will go for him but to me he could be the missing piece.
Agreed. If AW’s coaching skills are what people believe them to be surely he could improve this lad from gifted to amazing. However, AW rarely goes back to a player after having a usually insulting first offer turned down so I doubt that he’ll be signed. (EG Cahill – 12 m turned down then only a few months later he wouldn’t beat 7 m.) I see Cahill scored last night too – so Cahill is topping Pods, Santi 7 Giroud at the mo. LOL.

Dear God!! What are you saying?
Adam Johnson is utter crap. He is the last player we want at Arsenal – don’t let him get anywhere near us.
There’s a reason why he doesn’t get a game at Citeh and he was hopeless playing for England last week.
I would rather put Bendtner on the wing or even Chamakh, than waste a load of money on Johnson.
At first it was quoted as 10m and more recently 6m for his services. A bargain today. Unless you think he’s “utter crap” obviously! Mancini said he wants him to go out on loan and come back improved and so Mancini doesn’t think he’s crap; just not quite there yet. Obviously, not playing doesn’t help him get that added extra. Funnily enough, I thought he had moments of genuine threat v Italy. No small task.
I agree with you this guy is rubbish he is NOT a class above the players we have. I sincerely hope this is made up stuff that I see everyday
yes i also agree with u so much he is the missing piece in our team he will help as so much wenger should go for him if he is reading this comment

Sorry for double post – page stalled when submitted.
City have stated that Johnson will NOT be available for a loan deal, but he is available if the price is met.
“Our left flank is a bit exposed as Gervinho is the only recognized left winger in the team.”
Santos is training as a winger, used in pre-season on LW, and will continue to be used there once we have defensive cover. If he’s not in prison! AW doesn’t trust him as LB.
When we saw Johnson being touted as available we thought exactly the same thing. If Theo goes you also have another player that can cover the right wing. Assuming that Navas or Ox become 1st choice. We think he’s a better footballer than Theo, who we see as a more explosive player in 2 or 3 situations in a game. Consistency and involvement for 90 minutes is Theo’s problem.
