I know we often talk about matches that we cannot afford to lose but this time around it is really critical that Arsenal return from White Hart Lane with maximum points if they intend to finish above their rivals this season. Actually we are basically in the same position last year where we needed to take all three point against a then rampaging Spurs white who were ten points ahead in the league.
Now they are only four points ahead in the league (which would stretch to 7 if we lose tomorrow) but Spurs do seem a slightly different side this year so I wouldn’t count on them to crumble again. So with 11 games to go, we need to reel them in as soon as possible and tomorrow would be the ideal opportunity.
Of course, the task is harder because this is an away match and our record at White Hart Lane in recent years isn’t that great. Therefore we will start as the underdogs and this should suit us fine. Our problem this season has been breaking down opponents would like to hit us on the counter which I don’t think will be the opponents game plan. They will undoubtedly be attacking us from the start so it should be an open game and really interesting for the fans.
Like most recent North London derbies, I expect this one to be high octane and high scoring, which hopefully would fall into Arsenal’s favour in the end. I just hope my nerves can last the entire match!
