First of all, everything you read or hear about Chelsea deservedly won the match is a whole load of crap. It was a case of Arsenal losing the match rather than Chelsea winning it. The Gunners played the Blues of the park at the Emirates and to give up the three points was very disappointing. At the end of the day, it came down to Chelsea taking the opportunity when it came their way and we didn’t. Of course, they did have a little rub of the green themselves on that day.
If you think back to the match on Saturday, Chelsea had only 3 shots on goal. One was scored by Torres, one missed by Torres and the other was gifted to them by Arsenal. The Gunners on the other hand, had at least four clear chances to score. Gervinho made his, while Podolski was only thwarted by a good save from Cech. Oxlade Chamberlain blew his chance wide and in the end, when we needed it the most, Giroud failed us again.
As for being lucky on that day, Chelsea certainly had their fair share in North London. Of course Koscielny could have done better for Mata’s goal but it also took a fair bit of luck that it went in the way it did. On the other side, Giroud’s shot took a deflection of Luiz and while Cech did get a hand to it, on any other day, it would probably have crept in as well. Also, Luiz deflected Gibbs cross just inches wide of post which could have also gone in if the Gunners had Chelsea’s luck that day.
I am sure many people would say that the team makes their own luck but there will be days like this that the ball just doesn’t want to fall you way. I am also not saying that we lost because we were unlucky. The fact is we lost because we did not take our chances when it was presented to us. This is the second game in succession that our profligacy in front of goal has cost us dearly. Unless we are able to stop this thing from happening again, we will probably not be able to duke it out for the Premiership title come May.

Not the game I watched, Arsenal were outplayed outclassed and will not win any siverware for another 7 years.
