What is happening to Nuri Sahin loan deal?

Yesterday we were told that the club has sealed the deal to bring Nuri Sahin to North London. Today, we are getting reports that the deal has broken down and Liverpool is looking more likely to beat us for the signature of the Turkish international. If this is really the case, then I think the Arsenal management really needs to give the fans an explanation on how they could have let such an important deal break down in the last minute.

Personally I am a great fan of Sahin and have been campaigning for the midfielder ever since his name came up for consideration back in July. I think he will give us good cover until Wilshere comes back and better flexibility in deploying our midfield formations. I was really happy when it was revealed that he had chosen Arsenal and was looking forward to seeing him in action for the Gunners.

So you can imagine my disappointment when reading about the rumored collapse of the deal. I really hope this is not the case. There have been many quality players linked to the club and although I really fancy the manager to sign all of them, I trust Arsene Wenger to make the right decisions. So obviously Sahin is a player which the manager likes for the team would not spend so much time and resources to make the deal happen. The Sahin deal has been on the cards for over a week now so to lose the player would be a massive disappointment. Furthermore, we have spent so much time on this deal, time that could have been used to broker other opportunities like for M’Vila or Navas or Mexes. The transfer market is closing in a week and any time lost is a wasted opportunity cost.

I really hope the Arsenal management do something about this matter and try to seal the deal as soon as possible. As I said in my post yesterday, it would really infuriate the fans should Arsene and his team let this one slip by.

SkySports Germany have reported that Sahin passed his medical today at Arsenal so don’t know what to believe

Im sure he’d rather play Champions League rather than sit in a Liverpool hotel listening to gunshots all night

I feel sorry for the player, one minute he’s Arsenal bound then Liverpool hijack the deal and Wenger does absolutely nothing, so we will have to basically rely on Diaby who is consistently injured to shore up the midfield, what a joke. We should have just gone for a permanent deal rather than a loan and it would have all been sorted. The transfer deadline is rapidly approaching and we will be short of players yet again.

I don’t think anyone has enough information to say things like Wenger/Arsenal have done absolutely nothing etc.

There’s no Loserpool hijack,Turkish and German media confirm an Arsenal medical which Sahin has passed so expect confirmation in three days.

Lol. and i thought the deal collapse because wenger try to make it permanent?

Various report mirrored this. The loan itself has no problem whatsoever, the problem is because wenger try to insert a buy clause at the end of the season.

This really is very frustrating. Why should it take so long to decide?

      ha ha it is frustrating…
the thing is transfers have always taken weeks if not months…
whats different is that before a newspaper might printa story every week – then every day as time progressed…
with todays technology so many sites print the same stories multiple times a day and we all sit here waiting expecting something to happen because we see what looks like loads of activity when in fact hardly anything has happened..

      think of it like this…

if sahins agent has to meet with real madrid he then most likely would not meet with arsenal till the next day… arsenal also have to meet with real madrid…either of those meetings may need further meetings or either party might decide to discuss with liverpool… already thats a week of work and that does not take into account playoing hardball and delaying meetings strategically… just saying…

JUDITH: You are quite right in all you state. To take this issue further I commented in a blog last week that I wasn’t expecting now’t from Jose who’s very good at taking (Ashley Cole behind A.W.’s back) but not so good at giving especially when he owes us big time. Mourinho is not such a special one. He has a chance to redeem himself but don’t hold your breath fellow Gooners.

Arsenal management don’t owe you any sort of explanation. When has anyone from Arsenal FC officially mentioned anything about trying to sign Sahin at all?

Sorry but only an official announcement can put this issue to rest while the window is still open. I am in agreement that you can’t help wondering what the devil is wrong with us if we let this slip away ….Having watched some clips of this kid in action, his accurate long range passing and his ability to break up the opposition’s play without conceding a foul…. I know the clips make it seem like he has the ball “all the time” … surely we can only be better off if we get this kid on loan or whatever who cares!!

The problem is Money, money, money!

We just cannot kick the habit, “Bargain Hunting”!

Bacelone are looking for a new nice goalkeeper, why Arsene Wenger is not selling the first Arsenal goalkeeper to Barca as far as he is looking for gaining money, but not progressing the team and finshing for seven year with trophy
To clearify in this reason what happening with Nuri Sahin- why Arshavin is leaving, what caused qucik escape for Song and many others
lastly please do forward step if not leave the team Arsen Wenger
